Who is at Risk?

Individuals most at-risk of disease have:

  • A generally weakened medical condition
  • Have received antibiotics
  • Are likely to have been hospitalized or residing in a long term care facility, where they could have been exposed to spores.

Also, age correlates with increased incidence, severity of disease, the likelihood of recurrences and CDI(C. difficile infection) related-death.

  1. Do you have an upcoming SURGERY, requiring you to be hospitalized for several days?
  2. Have you been HOSPITALIZED TWICE in the last year and received antibiotics?
  3. Are you 50 years of age or older?

You may be eligible to help us develop a vaccine to protect at risk individuals like yourself from a serious hospital acquired infection; Clostridium difficile, also known as C.diff.

350,000 Americans are hospitalized every year due to this disease 77% of cases being in people over 50 year old.
